Sindhu ready to take on Saina
Basking in the glory of the historic bronze medal at the World Championships, P.V. Sindhu said she was now ready to take on her celebrated compatriot Saina Nehwal at the inaugural Indian Badminton League, that commences here on Wednesday.
“I’m thrilled to win the medal, and my immediate target is to excel in the next two weeks at the IBL. I am ready to play against Saina and will try to give my best performance. Hope it will be a good show,” said Sindhu, who became the first Indian women’s singles player to achieve the feat and third overall from the country. The Badminton Association of India announced a cash reward of `15 lakh for the shuttler in recognition of her outstanding performance.
Meanwhile, world number one Lee Chong Wei’s coach Tey Seu Bock of Malaysia was on Sunday named chief coach of Mumbai Masters for the cash-rich event.
