Sports Minister congratulates Sindhu for bronze
New Delhi: Sports Minister Jitendra Singh today congratulated rising Indian shuttler P V Sindhu for clinching a bronze medal at the World Championships in Guangzhou, China.
"Congratulations on your outstanding performance at the World Badminton Championship-2013 being held at Guangzhou, China. You have made the country proud by winning Bronze Medal in Women's Singles Event," Singh said in a statement.
"The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports stands committed to supporting your endeavour to bring laurels to India in future," he added.
Sindhu settled for a bronze medal after suffering a straight-game defeat against world number three Ratchanok Inthanon in the semifinals of the prestigious event yesterday.

World number 12 Sindhu, playing in her maiden World Championships, had notched up stunning victories against two Chinese players in the run-up to the semifinals but she failed to put it cross Ratchanok, going down 10-21 13-21 in a 36-minute women's singles match.
