His family name dominates the Bengaluru skyline. So, pursuing real estate comes naturally to Faiz Rezwan. The son of Rezwan Razack and nephew of Irfan Razack, Faiz is carving a niche for himself.

Story so far: “I studied in Vidyaniketan School and Canadian School. I graduated from Kings College, London with a degree in business management and returned to the city.

For a whole year, I did nothing but relax. I am extremely passionate about golf and play the game whole year-round. It was my dad and uncle who told me to do something with my time than play golf all day!”

Into the future: Faiz currently heads the procurement department. The sprawling 300-acre Golfshire property, overlooking Nandi Hills is his “pet project” which is touted to be one of the finest golfing venues in the country. “This project is the cumulative effort of specialists from UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia and USA.

The property also houses a luxurious 5-star hotel and a convention centre, pipping the conventional Palace Grounds as a high-profile wedding venue.

I have also tied up with PGA from UK to develop the area keeping in mind international standards.”

Personal byte: “Before I realised it, my family saw a potential in me to delve into the family business and take it to greater heights.

They also knew my weakness — golf. I was overjoyed and nervous when I was given this project. I’ve learnt along the way that confidence is the key. In business, you need to show that you’re confident even if you are unsure within.”

Did you know? Faiz is also involved in selling properties to niche clients. He recently sold a house to Telugu actor Nagarjuna.

A self-confessed late riser from his early days, Faiz now wakes up at the crack of dawn. He is an equestrian and rides four times a week.

He also plays golf regularly and practices yoga everyday before heading to work. Before throwing himself into the family business, he toyed with the idea of launching a radio channel.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
