SSC-HPRC, Jindal open with wins

SSC-HPRC beat Cavalry, 6 goals to 5 in the opening match of the 14-goal Protiviti Sir Pratap Singh Cup polo tournament at the Army Equestrian Centre in Delhi Cantt on Wednesday.

In the day’s second game, Jindal Steel & Power beat IPG Young India 8 goals to 5½.
For the winners of the opener, the Godara brothers, Manupal and Dhruvpal scored three and two goals respectively with Vishal rounding off the tally.
Cavalry’s goals came off the sticks of Navjit Singh (3), and Ravi Rathore and Vishal Chauhan )1 each).
Jindal were booste by strikes from Naveen Jindal (2), Tom de Bruin (3), Simran Shergill (2) and Angad Kalaan (1), while for IPG Young India, who had 2½ goals on handicap, Abhimanyu Pathak, Bhawani Kalvi and Himat Bedla scored once each.
