French connection

French ambassador Jérome Bonnafont, recently hosted a party at the embassy in the capital recently. The party was followed by a charity football tournament between French and Indian business heads and the French embassy staff. As wine and cheese flowed, the participants were having a ball, and rightfully so after a hard day on the field. “It’s great to be associated with a noble cause. And we are happy to have successfully roped in like-minded people,” said Jérome Bonnafont.
The event was a result of the joint effort of Olympique Lyonnais (OL) Foundation and Enterprise Rhône-Alps International (ERAI), in support of Kolkata-based NGO, Tomorrow’s Foundation.
Some sports memorabilia like football shirts, signed by OL star players, cricket bat signed by the legend Sachin Tendulkar, upon completing 20 years of playing cricket for India were put on the auction table on the sidelines of the do.
