An ode to tea art
Recently, the Emperor’s Lounge at the Taj Mahal Hotel was transformed into a small hub of tea lovers, where artist Anjum Siddiqui displayed her love for tea in her artworks. The artist, whose works were entirely dedicated to various forms and stages of tea, talked about her love for tea and how she likes to interpret it in her creations.
She says, “I am a great fan of tea and I end up having 8-10 cups of tea everyday. When I decided to paint, I thought why not portray this wonderful beverage as an artwork? Then I read about tea and learnt how various civilisations have relished these small leaves.”
It goes without saying that the hi-tea along with “tea-art” was all about exotic and indigenous varieties of tea, and the guests were seen enjoying it with yummy scones, sandwiches and pastries.
