Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi resigned on Saturday to jeering from crowds in Rome, after the eurozone crisis brought to an end his nearly two-decade domination of political life in Italy.
Berlusconi's exit was announced by the press office of President Giorgio Napolitano, who formally accepted the resignation.
