Sanjay’s fine rage

Several stories have been floating around about Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s purported showdowns on the sets of Guzaarish. The two have apparently been at loggerheads while filming the movie.
Part of the reason is the director’s famed rage. We hear everyone on sets is petrified of Sanjay when he’s angry. And when he issues a diktat, no one on set dares to go against him. Not even Sanjay himself.
Hrithik, on the other hand, is used to voicing his doubts over the roles he portrays. He doesn’t shy away from a healthy argument if he thinks it will add to his portrayal. So much so, that Hrithik has even said, “If I don’t agree with my father over something on the sets, I do voice my opinions.”
Recently, on the sets of Guzaarish, Sanjay asked everyone to either switch off their cellphones or keep them on silent. Of course, no one had the guts to disobey. So imagine the unit’s surprise one fine day, when a cellphone rang while a shot was being canned. Everyone was waiting with bated breath imagining what Sanjay would do to the culprit.
To everyone’s surprise however, it was Sanjay’s phone that was ringing. But before anyone could react, the director reached for his phone and flung it away in anger. “We realised that if Sanjay could be harsh on the others, he is doubly harsh on himself,” said a unit hand.
