[1]Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivered a baby girl on Wednesday morning. The Bachchan family was in full attendance on Tuesday night, and as a posse of media persons kept up a vigil outside the hospital gates, the rest of the country refreshed Mr Bachchan’s Twitter page to check for confirmation.
But at 12.20 am, when he left for home, good news was yet to come. He even tweeted saying “And as I write, there is still no news from Aishwarya .. Your wishes and prayers with us … thank you..” A few hours later though, Mr Bachchan expressed his joy at becoming grandfather, and within minutes congratulatory messages started pouring in.
From Bipasha Basu to Boman Irani, every Bollywood celebrity worth their name sent out their wishes to the Bachchans. Among the people to personally visit the hospital were close friends Goldie Behl, Sonali Bendre, Shristi Arya, Amar Singh, Bunty Walia, Ashutosh Gowarikar and Apoorva Lakhia among others.
While neither the family nor the hospital has yet released any official statement, hospital sources say Aishwarya had a normal delivery. The sources say the Bachchans might hold a press conference later in the evening.
Meanwhile, several numerologists and astrologers have already readied their own version of the baby’s kundali. Some have even offered to give their expert advice to the family, including suggestions on the suitable alphabets they might want to use in the baby’s name. Some others have gone as far as doing an in-depth analysis of the newborn’s life and career. Not even a day old, the newest Bachchan is already a superstar
