May 3: Producing fake MBA degree certificates for marriage proved costly for a man and his family when a sessions court dismissed the trial court’s order and asked the police to register a case against the them.

anjeev Aggarwal directed the MM to consider the matter again and direct the concerned station house officer (SHO) of Prashant Vihar police station to register an FIR against the accused.
The complainant Yogesh Puri, the girl’s father, has alleged that his son-in-law Akshay Sadana, including his family members, misrepresented himself that he is a qualified MBA and on the basis of it, he obtained his consent as for wedding. Later on after the wedding, it was discovered that Akshay is not holding any such degree.
ASJ Aggarwal said, “The order passed by the MM court cannot be legally sustained as in this case Puri has also made allegations that certain degrees produced to him by Akshay at the time of wedding were later on found to have been forged and fabricated. Mr Puri has also filed the certificates in this regard from the concerned registrar of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, who had made endorsement on the said testimonials that the said testimonials were never issued from the university and were fake in nature.”
The court ordered the Prashant Vihar police station to register a case against five persons —Akshay, his parents, sister and brother-in-law — under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code.
