Shashi Tharoor files defamation case against magazine

Shashi Tharoor MP has filed a defamation case against the Sunday Indian magazine demanding a compensation of Rs 10 crore for not responding to a legal notice seeking apology for a news report which alleged that Mr Tharoor had deposited money in Swiss bank accounts.

The notice had stated that the Sunday Indian magazineshould withdraw the report and tender an unconditional apology as Mr Tharoor does not hold “legal or illegal accounts in Swiss banks”.
