The latest success formula in Bollywood is to look South and get inspired. Given the numbers of blockbusters over the last one year that were inspired from Tamil and Telugu hits, all the big stars are looking to work in these remakes. The latest Tamil hit to be remade in Hindi is Thiruttu Payale, and director Susi Ganeshan will again helm the Bollywood version, titled Shortcut Romeo, which will star Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Thiruttu Payale was an out-and-out masala entertainer, and Shortcut Romeo is expected to follow suit. Neil too is excited about working in such a commercial flick. “Susi has made some lovely films in the past, and Shortcut Romeo too is turning out to be a spicy outing. I have shot for about 15 days and loved every moment of it,” Neil says. “This is the first time I am doing such a masala film, and it is fun to do action, romance, comedy — just about everything.”
