The Israeli diplomat, who received serious injuries in the explosion in her car on Monday, may face hindrance in future in moving one of her legs as some nerves of her spinal cord have suffered permanent damage.
Tal Yehoshua Koren, who is recuperating in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital here, is unable to move her right leg due to the permanent damage to some nerves in her spine.
“There is numbness in some parts of a leg of the patient as some nerves of her spine have been damaged permanently. She is unable to move a leg and foot,” said Dr Deep Makker, deputy medical superintendent, Primus Hospital.
“There is no problem in any other limb or part of the body. There was a vertebral fracture which has been fixed. Her liver, which was affected by splinters, is alright now,” Dr Makker said.
Ms Koren is conscious and her condition is improving, he said, adding that she is likely to be shifted on Thursday from the ICU to a normal room, where she will be kept under observation for at least four days.
The diplomat had received several splinter injuries, including critical ones in her spine and liver, in the explosion.
