The Race 2 controversy seems to be getting murkier by the day. While on the one hand the spat between Deepika Padukone and producer Ramesh Taurani has become the talk of the town, now Nargis Fakhri has been dragged into the mess as well. It seems Ramesh had approached the actress a while ago and offered her Deepika’s role in the film. A source says, “On Friday afternoon Nargis met Ramesh in his office. She was under the impression that they would talk about some other project but when she realised that it was Deepika’s role that was being offered to her, she backed out immediately, saying she has just started off in Bollywood and doesn’t want to get involved in any kind of controversy.”
Ramesh’s moves also seem suspicious. Just when the battle between him and Deepika was beginning to settle down, and the actress was even considering returning to the film, he went ahead and offers it to Nargis. “A high-profile multi-starrer like Race 2 would have been a wise move for a newcomer like Nargis, but full marks to her for sticking to her own rules,” the source continues.
Refreshing to see at least someone is not taking the controversial road to success.
