Salim Khan doesn’t write the hard-hitting film scripts that were once his forte, but he’s doing a wonderful job of releasing and distributing movies across the country. The Khan khandaan has profited greatly by this plan, with son Salman delivering the superhits and father Salim releasing them. However, the patriarch is now spreading his wings; Salim is planning to release the upcoming Jodi Breakers though none of his sons have any role in it.
“Salim is very choosy about the films he distributes, and apart from Salman’s films, he hasn’t released many others. But this time, he has done so for love. Wife Helen is making a big screen appearance after many years with this film, and that’s what made him go out of his way to distribute it,” says a source.
It’s the film’s makers, though, who’re over the moon. Given the stranglehold he has over several parts of the country, they feel he comes with a good luck charm. “Whichever film he has touched, has turned into gold,” says a senior official from the production house. “We’re happy he picked up our film for emotional reasons, but we would also like to believe he saw good potential in its content.”
