The budget for the ministry of science and technology in the 12th Five-Year Plan is set to witness a three-fold increase.
Minister of state for science and technology Ashwani Kumar pointed out that the ministry’s budget will increase from Rs 33,000 crore in the 11th Plan to to almost Rs 90,000 crore. “While the budget allocation will be Rs 78,500 crore, another Rs 10,000 crore has been set aside for special projects,” he said.
