‘Kangna has no complaints’

Kangna Ranaut will now be seen in a special appearance in Hrithik’s forthcoming venture Kites. Kangna began her career with Anuraag Basu’s Gangster and went on to work in Life In A Metro with him, but in what may be Anuraag’s biggest film to date — Kites, the actress has only a small role.
The actress has also been left out of the promotions of the film. “Let’s not make a big deal about all this,” says Anuraag. “We talk to each other almost everyday. She was always a part of my films. When I did not take her in Kites, she was surprised and asked me why she wasn’t a part of this one. I explained to her that the role demanded a Mexican girl,” he adds.
Anuraag adds that they were on the lookout for a girl who could put in a special appearance and that Kangna volunteered. “We were on the look out for a new girl but then Kangana said that she wanted to be a part of this film in a special appearance. Even in the credits, she is being billed as a special appearance and she is not complaining,” the director says.
“She said that she would be angry if she was not cast in my next film,” laughs Anuraag.
