Indian intelligence agencies have finally pieced together the puzzle behind the February 13 bomb attack on Israeli diplomat, Tal Yehoshua. Investigations have revealed that the entire conspiracy was executed by four Iranian nationals and their exact role in the conspiracy has also been clearly established.
The mastermind of this operation is 32-year-old Masoud Sedaghatzdeh. Incidentally, Masoud has been arrested by the Malaysian police for his involvement in the Bangkok serial bombing that happened in quick succession of the attack on the Israeli diplomat here. Highly-placed intelligence sources said that Masoud, passport number M-203005701, is the main link in the bomb attacks targeting Israeli interests in Delhi, Bangkok and Georgia.
Sources said Masoud had directly instructed freelance journalist Syed Kazmi to help one of the accused, Seyed Ali Mahdian Sadr, in carrying out the recee of the Israeli embassy. A team of Indian intelligence agencies will soon be going to Malaysia and Bangkok for further investigations and to question Masoud.
“We would want to get custody of Masoud and bring him to India as he is the main mastermind in our case. His custodial interrogations is important and he should be put to trial in India,” a senior intelligence official said.
Masoud had managed to escape from Bangkok to Malaysia after the blasts but was caught after a prompt alert was issued against him.
Investigating officials said the magnetic bomb was planted by Houshang Afshar Irani who had specially come to India from Iran to assemble the explosive and stick it to the diplomat’s car. Irani is said to be an expert in explosives
The fourth accused, Mohammad Reza Abolghasemi, had helped organise the logistics, including the bike used in the incident, for the bomber with Kazmi’s help.
