Madasamy of Peermedu, Idukki district on Tuesday filed a PIL before the Kerala High Court seeking a directive to prohibit screening of the scene of the much-downloaded song at the start of the Dhanush’s latest flick 3.
The petitioner also sought a directive to prohibit the exhibition of the song in any media.
The petitioner, Guinness world record holder for the longest speech marathon of 30 hours and 6 minutes, argued that the song was a bad influence on the young minds. The word Kolaveri, which meant killer rage in English, would badly influence the youth.
The songs with violent lyrics would spur aggression-related ideas and emotions. The central board of film certification granted certification to the film with the song scene without taking this into consideration, he said.
The petition had been filed against actor Dhanush, and his wife Aiswarya Dhanush, who is also actor Rajnikanth’s daughter.
