Jacqueline Fernandes’ journey has been a strange one, at least geographically speaking. From Sri Lanka, the dusky beauty came to Bollywood where she created ripples and created a unique niche for herself in the process. And now, she is casting her eye beyond India, and looking at the international film market. There are talks linking the actress with a Canadian-Brit venture, titled Definition Of Fear.
“She is very happy that she was approached for the film, but a lot of things are yet to be finalised,” says a well-placed source, adding that Jackie will not be the sole lead in the film, and there will be some three other girls as well.
What we do know, though, is that the film will belong to the horror-thriller genre, not the first for Jackie, who received rave reviews for Murder 2. “It should be a safe commercial debut in the international market for Jackie. She is still excited about Bollywood, but doesn’t mind travelling to the West either. It will get her on to the international cinema map, though she is yet to sit down and take a final call,” says a close associate of the actress.
Jackie, on her part, was as non-committal when we spoke to her. “I don’t want to say much as I haven’t actually signed on anything,” she says in a guarded tone.
