The Kochi bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal on Monday granted time for former ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair to file a reply on the government's recent statement against him.
The comments against Nair had been made by the government side last week when the CAT considered the Centre’s decision to bar Nair from government posts regarding the Antrix-Devas deal.
Senior advocate P.K. Ibrahim, appearing for the Centre, had submitted that there were serious administrative and procedural lapses in the Antrix-Devas deal.
The Kochi bench posted the case to May. The government reiterated its stand that the petition filed by Nair was not maintainable.
Nair moved the tribunal against the report of the high-level team constituted by the government to examine the facts and circumstances of the agreement between Antrix Corporation Ltd and Devas Multi Media Private Ltd on the controversial S-band deal. Nair also challenged the government’s order excluding him from the right to re-employment, and right to hold committee roles or any other important role under the government and its bodies.
He also questioned the decision divesting him of any current assignment with government agencies.
