As many as 150 shops were gutted after a major fire broke out at a market in Baqarganj area here.
The blaze was reported at around 2 a.m. after which around 6 fire tenders were pressed into service, fire department officials said, adding that the flames could be doused off only after five hours at around 7 a.m.
No injuries were reported in the incident but goods kept in the shops were completely gutted, they said. The cause of the fire is yet to be known and further probe into the matter is on.
