A drug addict was caught and handed over to police for allegedly slashing his three-year-old nephew's thumb and sucking blood in Manipur's Imphal East district.
Following an alarm raised by the child's grandmother, locals chased and caught the 38-year old man, M. Jiban, at Keiro area on Wednesday, police said.
The child, P. Prithiviraj, is the only son of Jiban's youngest sister. Jiban, a truck driver, was handed over to Irilbung police.
