Stepping up the heat against Bihar’s Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, the Opposition LJP on Monday launched its statewide signature collection campaign demanding a CBI probe into financial corruption as indicated in the CAG’s latest report and the government’s dismissal.
Hundreds of LJP workers began the campaign at the party’s state headquarters in Patna, led by party national general secretary Satyanand Sharma and senior leaders Maheshwar Singh, Raghvendra Prasad Kushwaha and Chedi Lal. The workers put their signatures in the forms specially printed for the campaign. LJP chief and RS member Ram Vilas Paswan could not attend the launch due to sickness, said sources. Each printed form, bearing description of the LJP’s demands for a CBI probe into the alleged corruption by Bihar’s JD(U)-BJP coalition government, has space for 50 signatures in support of these demands.
