The CBI, which is investigating Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case, is understood to have ascertained the identity of the woman, whose vaginal swab was allegedly swapped with that of the deceased teenager.
The development may help the investigating agency to find out about the people who wanted to tamper with the evidence. The agency had reportedly collected the details of certain women, whose vaginal swabs were taken at the Noida civil hospital a few days before and after Aarushi’s body was brought there, a day after she was found murdered on May 16, 2008.
Out of these, the swab sample of one of the women has reportedly matched with the sample that was being shown as Aarushi’s sample and the investigating agency has been able to ascertain the identity of that woman. However, sources refused to reveal the identity of the woman.
During investigation, the CBI came to know that the vaginal swabs drawn from the victim were allegedly substituted with that of an unidentified woman.
This was found during the tests conducted by the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics in Hyderabad. Aarushi’s parents, Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar, who were subjected to narco-analysis test were also questioned in connection with the bungling in sending the vaginal swabs of Aarushi, sources said.
“The investigating officials later decided to collect the DNA samples of doctors and technical staff of the Noida civil hospital where the post-mortem was done. Besides, the agency officials also collected details of certain women whose vaginal swabs were taken during that period (a few days before and after Aarushi’s sample was taken) by the hospital staff,” sources said.
They added that the swab sample of one of the women has reportedly matched.
Sources further revealed that some doctors, who allegedly helped in manipulating the swab sample, are also under the CBI scanner. The agency may question certain doctors of the Noida civil hospital again.
