A two-judge bench of Jabalpur high court on Friday admitted a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding allotment of land to the private Chirayu Hospital in the state capital and served notices on the Madhya Pradesh government asking for a reply within four weeks.
The high court bench comprising Justice Rakesh Saxena and Justice S.C. Sinho on Friday responded to the PIL by Mr Tarun Gupta, secretary Parishram Samaj Kalyan Samiti by issueing notices to six state departments — these are departments of revenue, housing and environment, capital project administration, Medical Council of India and Chirayu Charitable Society.
The PIL questions the allotment of 32 acres of land falling in the submergence area of Bhopal’s Upper Lake to Chirayu Charitable Society. Due to the seriousness and importance of the case, it has been listed for being taken up immediately after the court opens after vacation on June 18.
The petitioner challenges the large scale irregularities in the allotment and leasing out of large tracts of land bearing details as khasra no’s. 71, 73, 76, village Bhainsakhedi, district Bhopal, to the private respondent Chirayu Charitable Society by the state government through its allotment order dated August 30, 2008.
The petitioner also challenges the subsequent lease deed executed by the state government with the respondent society on September 17, 2008.
