The one-year rule of the AIADMK has demonstrated that the government led by chief minister J. Jayalalithaa is capable of ensuring “development and good governance to the people who have rejected the DMK,” finance minister O. Panneerselvam has said.
“No other state in the country has accomplished so much within a year’s time. And Ms Jayalalithaa is ensuring development to people who sought for it when they, accepting her call, ousted the DMK lock stock and barrel,” he said while speaking at a rally here to highlight the one-year achievements of the ruling AIADMK.
Taking a dig at the opposition DMDK, he said the party was bound to forfeit its deposit in the Pudukottai by-elections.
Claiming that the winning streak of the AIADMK would continue for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the minister said, “Ms Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK will win all the 40 Lok Sabha seats in TN and Puducherry and days are not far away for our chief minister to hoist the flag at Delhi.
” “Political observers are keenly watching our leader, who is capable of playing a larger role in the national politics,” he added.
Listing out some of the schemes like the four gram gold thali for marriage scheme, enhancing marriage assistance for girls, old age pension (OAP), and also the free cows/ goats scheme for the rural poor, Mr Panneerselvam said, “Each and every scheme was well thought of and has long term benefits.”
The chief minister had restored law and order that had deteriorated during the previous DMK rule.
