Madhur Bhandarkar’s jinx with Heroine continues. The much-delayed film was finally showing signs of going somewhere and its makers had even made plans to release its trailer with Rowdy Rathore that releases next month. But it now appears that even that plan will be dropped.
The problem, we’re told, was the adult and risqué content of the trailer. “Heroine chronicles the life and times of a Bollywood actress who goes through a turbulent journey, so it’s natural for the trailer to show Kareena smoking and drinking alcohol,” informs an insider. “However, Madhur and the film’s producers UTV foresaw some problems with the censors if they continued with these scenes. They didn’t want a situation where the promo could be shown only with an “A-rated” film.”
Which is why they decided to make a new promo altogether, with no adult content in it. “The next big film they have targetted is Bol Bachchan now. Madhur and UTV is confident it’s the right time for them to introduce their film,” says a source.
