Warning against the “Stalinist style of functioning that led to some gruesome incidents in the state”, Union defence minister A.K. Antony on Saturday called on Congressmen to resist such attempts.
Without directly referring to the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder, he said, “Certain forces are trying to introduce a Stalinist style here. Such politics have no place in an enlightened state like Kerala.”
He also cautioned against rising trends to undercut the secular character of the state. “Certain regions in the state are increasingly facing threats of religious terrorism.
Congress workers should guard against this. They should not be too much attached to religion or caste, nor too detached,” Antony said, while inaugurating the new DCC office, ‘Karunakara Bhavan’ here.
