Mahendra Singh, a 46-year-old head constable was allegedly crushed to death in Dholpur, Rajasthan. Police suspect the hand of local sand mafia in the crime.
A sand-laden truck was found abandoned near the crime scene. It is suspected that the truck was carrying illegally-mined sand.
Authorities have cordoned off the crime scene and were carrying out investigations. No arrests have been made yet.
The incident comes few months after IPS officer Narendra Kumar was allegedly killed by the mining mafia in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district.
