Queen Elizabeth II joined an armada of over 1,000 boats down the Thames on Sunday afternoon, past London Eye and Westminster, to celebrate her 60-year-long reign. This was one of the largest flotillas ever seen on London’s river: the last similar spectacle was 350 years ago, held for King Charles II and his consort Catherine of Braganza in 1662.
