Krishnagiri man who filed papers for president polls claimed himself as a reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

M. Illiyas, 45, by birth a Muslim and native of Mittahalli village, near Kaveripattinam, 15 kilometers from Krishnagiri has filed his nomination on Monday before V.K. Agnihotri, returning officer for presidential polls scheduled for July 19.

Illiyas, now in Delhi spoke to DC on Tuesday morning over phone to say that his nomination was rejected after Illiyas failed to file certified copies of electoral rolls.

“Nomination was rejected by the returning officer for want of certified copies of electoral rolls” said Illiyas, who hails from a family with agricultural background.

Illiyas, who claim himself as reincarnation of Jesus Christ, want to call him as ‘International non-religious man’. He failed to explain about his reincarnation claim but said, “My work towards creating a world against caste, creed and religion will make people realize my claim as Jesus Christ” said Illiyas
Illiyas, when asked about his nomination for president poll being rejected, said “Why to bother about rejection when myself being the president (Jesus Christ) of the world” Illiyas explained.

He face charges under section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, after his arrest in December 2011 by Kaveripattinam police for hoisting the tri-colour in a mast painted in black and making the flag to fly in half mast protesting against the appointment of Ban Ki-Moon as UN secretary general without elections.
