[1]Airtel’s initiative of giving chance to 12 under-16 kids to train with Manchester United Soccer School was given a thumbs up by both Sunil Chhetri and former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke.
India’s football captain and former Manchester United striker both said that it was a great opportunity for the youngsters. A jealous Chhetri wished that a programme like this had existed when he was a young boy. “I’m a bit jealous today. I wish there was something like this when I was growing up. Children these days in India are getting such great opportunities.” Yorke saw this as a great chance for youngsters to excel in football. “This is a great opportunity for kids top excel in football. They will get to see what it takes
to become a professional footballer. Youngsters will gain a lot of experience. A platform for the kids to showcase their talents,” said Yorke.
Starting mid-July 2012, the three-month long talent hunt will involve participation from over 10,000 young football players across 16 cities in India and hand pick the best performers in skill tests, real time match simulations, and week-long coaching clinics with Manchester United Soccer School coaches.
