As the dates of matches are approaching, the swish restaurants and clubs in the capital are gearing up to cash in on FIFA 2010, which they are calling the “flavour of the season”.
With special screenings, ambience, interesting dishes and cocktail names, the hospitality industry is making special preparations to woo customers. Sanjeev Anand, general manager at Buzz says, “In Delhi, we have many football fans, who want to enjoy matches in a charged up environment. We have prepared a special menu keeping in mind, the fans and given interesting names to cocktails and dishes based on the names of players.”
At the Smoke House, there is a new menu called ‘cocktail flight’ specially created for football fans during FIFA matches.
Deepali Gupta, brand manager of Smoke House says, “We have created special beer and cocktail menus keeping in mind, football enthusiasts, who unlike cricket fans are very passionate and energetic. There will be special pitchers and concoctions paired with food for customers during the FIFA season.”
Deepak Punia, the F&B manager for Galaxy Hotel, Gurgaon also talks about the special packages and offers that football fans can enjoy at the Howzatt pub.
“There are fresh gourmet beer cocktails like Allrounders, Black Dragon, Red Anchor and many more that are served with unlimited food during special offers for customers, who visit the pub to enjoy matches. We are also planning to give out sport merchandise related to football during the semi-final and final match screenings.”
