If you cancelled your last travel plan just because some friends couldn’t make it, it’s time to make a new one. Help is here for those of you who are looking for “travel buddies”. And to give you a new holiday experience altogether, Club Kunzum, which started as a travel blog in 2007, has now come up with a new initiative called “self drive holidays” where they help you find a partner you can spend a vacation with.
“We believe driving yourself is the best way to travel but most people are not confident enough to head out on their own. What we plan to do is to invite ladies to sign up individually. All those who join will then get a chance to meet one another before the journey at the Kunzum Travel Cafe. They can then decide for themselves who they are most comfortable sharing a car and a room with,” Ajay Jain of Kunzum tells us.
Although the club is open to all, some trips will be organised exclusively for women. The initiative, which will help travellers make friends from different walks of life, is meant for only those who are social and comfortable with going on trips with strangers. “What we are really looking at is co-traveller compatibility. We are often not able to meet new people just because we’re too busy with work and our existing social circles. So these trips will help in making new friends,” says Ajay.
The project that was launched recently already has more than 200 members. All you need to do is pay an annual membership fee of Rs 2,100 that includes a free companion card, and an add-on family membership fee of Rs 500 (annually).
“Non-members of the club are suggested to take membership and join,” says Ajay.
