My kind of heavenly hell

Welcome to the world of Ramuism which is peppered with Ayn Rand and Nietzche’s thoughts

Over the years I have made many believe that my sources of inspiration are Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead — which incidentally everyone in the film industry claims to have read, ha ha — and Nietzche’s writings including those in Thus Spake Zarathusthra.
But I have to say that Rand and Nietzche are just two among the many from whom I borrow my thoughts. In fact, a substantial amount of my philosophical growth came from Mad magazine and its ‘What me worry?’ hero, Alfred E Neuman. I learnt a lot from James Hadley Chase and unlearnt even more from Jean-Paul Sartre.
Quite frankly I have made a living out of reading the thrillers of Frederick Forsyth, Robert Ludlum and Mario Puzo.
From the kind of reading I do, I pick up whatever suits my convenience. I twist and turn that to apply and facilitate the way I have chosen to lead my life and to make the kind of films I want to. This pattern, too, keeps changing constantly, conditional to my state of mind, my state of being and also to the state of my moods. I am as moody as anyone else. Believe me, those who claim to be consistently balanced and correct, are lying through their teeth.
I am neither into understanding Ayn Rand’s ideology of objectivism nor Nietzsche’s nihilism. I take Rand and Nietzche merely as sources of thoughts to be applied practically in a thought process relevant to me. They are just ingredients I use, prepare my own thinking and then to invite whoever is smart or foolish enough to want to come into my thought system. Enter my mind at your own risk. Knowledge should not be a burden on the head. It should be like the steps of a ladder.
As soon as you climb one, leave the one you have climbed behind. You should not make the mistake of carrying what should carry you.
Ayn Rand’s Romantic Manifesto states, “The pursuit of truth is not important. The pursuit of that truth is important which helps you in reaching your goal that is provided you have one.” I do have a clearly identified truth within me which often pretty much comes out as lies.
Someone coined the word ‘Ramuism’ for the way I think and write. That reads as ‘individualism’ to me. In fact, everyone should be moving towards having their own individualisms. I even take a kind of a pride in the coinage of theword ‘Ramuism’. If anyone has a problem with that, too bad. They can go to hell!
Meanwhile, I am very content to remain in my own megalomaniacally created heavenly hell. I suspect that many of you may not have understood most of what I have written today. Nietzsche in his autobiography Ecce Homo said, “I say in onesentence what others do not say in whole books and it’s rare that I meet anyone who understands my sentences.” So, that’s the point dearies. Individualism should be justfelt, never understood.
