Former world number ones Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt are set to renew their rivalary when they meet in the final of the ATP grass-court Halle tournament here on Sunday.
Both ended German hopes in Saturday's semi-finals with Hewitt beating Benjamin Becker 6-7 (4/7), 7-6 (7/3), 6-2, and Federer seeing off Philipp Petzschner 7-6 (7/3), 6-4.
Fish, Querrey in final
London: Mardy Fish of the United States reached final of the ATP grasscourt event at Queen’s Club with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Feliciano Lopez of Spain on Saturday.
His victory meant there would be all-American final on Sunday, after Fish’s compatriot and friend Sam Querrey defeated Germany’s Rainer Schuettler 6-7 (9/11), 7-5, 6-3.
Sharapova in final
Birmingham: Second seed Maria Sharapova booked her place in the final WTA grasscourt event here at Edgbaston after defeating American Alison Riske 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 on Saturday.
Chinese top seed Li Na set up a final clash with Sharapova with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 victory over France's Aravane Rezai in the other semis.
Sania progresses
Eastbourne: Sania Mirza began her Aegon International qualifying campaign with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Mariana Duque Marino of Colombia on Saturday.
