Abu Jundal has told his interrogators that he was assigned the task of identifying potential Pakistani youth for induction into the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba.
He claimed that to accomplish his task he worked as a fitter in many residential societies in and around Karachi and interacted with the youth, some of whom joined the LeT. “Jundal used to do odd jobs, like work as a fitter and electrician, during his stay in Pakistan,” said ACP (crime) Niket Kaushik.
“Jundal would befri-end people in the area where he would get freelance work. He would then gel with the youth and identify who was vulnerable enough to be indoctrinated,” sources said.
