Mayawati’s statue vandalised

The statue of former UP Cchief minister and BSP supremo Mayawati was on Thusday vandalised by some unidentified persons in Gomti Nagar area here.

The white marble statue installed in the Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal was damaged by some persons this afternoon, sources said.

A big hammer was apparently used to vandalise the face and head of the statue, they said. Heavy police force has been deployed on the spot.
