Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao will start a ‘maun vrat’ deeksha (vow of silence) at Gandhi Bhavan from Saturday, urging the party’s state leadership to hold a brainstorming session to feel the pulse of Congress workers and the situation at grassroots level.
Announcing the programme on Friday, Mr Rao said though he has for long demanded that a session be conducted to know the party’s weaknesses and shortcomings, as also to strategise ahead of the 2014 general elections, both the CM and the PCC chief have so far not given any indication about holding any such meet.
“How can we improve unless we conduct a party session and review the situation in the state?” he asked.
