Shahid, Sonam put genes to good use

Shahid Kapur and Sonam Kapoor may have a world of expectation from them because of their famous parents but the two stars-in-making are not taking their responsibilities very lightly.
Shahid especially, has a lot to prove as he shoots for his father Pankaj Kapur’s directing debut Mausam. Seeing Shahid’s dedication, his co-star Sonam is also doing all she can to prep herself for the role. A source tells us that Shahid was put through a series of workshops before work on the film began. “Shahid has been working hard. He went to workshops with his dad before beginning work on the movie. Sonam, who is also a star daughter, realised that Shahid was trying to prove himself to his dad and hence, she started paying equal attention to her role,” said the source.
Apart from earning praise for her fashion sense, Sonam’s hasn’t created as much a buzz in her acting career. Shahid on the other hand, has walked the talk with Jab We Met and Kaminey, but is still looking to impress dad in Mausam. “Since they are both star children, they know how difficult it will be to please their parents. They aren’t new to acting but they don’t want to upset their parents and are giving the movie their all,” the source added.
