You’ve adjusted that last hair pin, taken a final look in the mirror and are all set to step out of the limo to sashay on the red carpet. But just as you’re about to do it, you realise a tiny hem which is out of place and panic.

Celebrities who often make an appearance on the red carpet often go through red carpet anxiety (RCA). Gossip Girl star Blake Lively revealed in a recent interview that she channels her inner Marilyn Monroe on the red carpet.
Sophie Choudry, who is a stunner at many red carpet events, says that confidence and feeling good about oneself are the key factors in getting the red carpet look right. “I don’t believe in idolising anyone. If I feel good about myself, I have no reason to worry. Moreover, I personally select my dress and attire for the evening so that I am sure about it. And I must admit that you need to have that exhibitionist attitude on the red carpet. I feel my glamorous and stylish best when I’m there,” says Sophie.
Several stylists admit to pacifying their famous clientele about faux-pas on the red carpet. Sunali Sood, a Mumbai-based stylist shared a little tit-bit with us about how actresses can get nerve-wrecked before a red-carpet event. “This popular actress suffers from extreme jitters before she’s scheduled for a red carpet appearance. So we go out of our way to ensure that she looks really gorgeous before posing for the shutterbugs. We work only with cuts that she’s comfortable with and ensure that we don’t try anything too experimental that might frazzle her. A few minutes in front of a three-way mirror where we show her exactly how perfect she’s looking and there’s not a hair out of place and then she’s good to go,” says Sood.
