Defence minister A.K. Antony has said India is seriously viewing the detection of a tunnel linking Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir, in the Samba area.
“We have taken the matter seriously. A general inspection of the border area is on and after I receive the report, I will comment on it further,” Antony told the media after inaugurating the international coirtech expo-2012 in Kanakakkunnu.
The 400-metre-long tunnel was brought to the notice of the BSF (by a local inhabitant) on July 28. This was apparently dug for infiltration and smuggling, he said.
In the morning, he felicitated students who scored full marks in the Plus Two examinations, at a ‘Prathibha Sangamam’ organised by Gandhiji Study Center.
