In a shocking incident, a baby girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at Kotulpur area in Bankura district.
The accused, Samsuddin Seikh, was arrested on Monday.
Police said two year old was taken to his house by neighbour Seikh on August 18 as her parents did not suspect anything.
The girl was later found weeping and in a bleeding condition by her parents who then took up the matter with the local village committee.
The committee informed the police on Sunday and the girl's medical test was conducted, police said.
Seikh was finally traced by villagers and handed over to police on Monday.
