Two realtors, who were allegedly involved in a murder case, were killed in broad daylight at Shadnagar on the Old Hyderabad High-way, on Friday. The two were hacked in front of a shop with a knife used to cut coconuts by a gang of five, who came in a Scorpio car and motorcycles.
Shadnagar sub division police officer S.V. Madhav Reddy said the murdered men were identified as Rajendra Prasad Naidu and Dasty Mallikarjuna, both aged around 35. They were residents of Kunool and hailed from Anantapur.
The reason for the murder seems to be vengeance as both the men were involved in the killing of another realtor from Shadnagar in November 2011, the police said.
Both the deceased were prime accused in the murder of realtor Venkat Ram Reddy from Shadnagar. In November 2011, a realtor named Venkat Ram Reddy, was kidnapped from Shadnagar and was killed at Anantapur. The murder was carried out by Prasad Naidu and Mallikarjuna. Both were charge sheeted by the police and were awaiting trial.
Three days back the duo came to Shadnagar along with three others for arranging a loan from a bank in Hyderabad. On Friday, they were heading towards Hyderabad and had stopped their vehicle near Pooja Dhaba, on the Old Hyderabad Highway. The gang hacked Prasad Naidu first and caught Mallikarjuna as he was attempting to flee. The remaining three fled from the spot.
“We have got a suspect who had called Prasad Naidu 20 minutes before the attack,” said Madhav Reddy.
