A complaint case was filed on Monday in Nalanda district court against MNS chief Raj Thackeray for his comments against the people of Bihar.
A social activist Biresh Pandey filed the case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Krishna Bihari Pandey under several sections of IPC.
The petitioner submitted that the people of Bihar felt insulted and their sentiments were hurt by Thackeray's recent speech in which he had described Mumbai-based Biharis as infiltrators and threatened to drive them out of the city.
Pandey said the MNS chief's provocative speech could vitiate peace and communal amity and cause discord among the people.
Lashing out at the MNS chief, RJD leader Ram Kirpal Yadav said, "There is no difference between terrorists and these people. Their language is same like terrorists. So the law applicable against terrorists should be used against them also."
Ram Kirpal Yadav said, "There is no difference between Raj Thackeray and Bal Thackeray. Government should take action against these people who are spreading hatred in society." Naresh Aggarwal of SP also condemned the statement of Thackeray.
"We had given a notice in the Lok Sabha today for suspension of question hour for taking the issue of Raj Thackeray. Just for his own little ambition he wants to divide the society in the name of region and SP strongly condemns it," he said.
Congress leader Jagadambika Pal flayed Thackeray for his "attempt to create divide in the society". The Shiv Sena chief came out in support of the Mumbai Police for arresting Qadir for allegedly vandalising the martyr's memorial during Azad Maidan protest on August 11 called to protest alleged atrocities on Muslims in Assam and Myanmar.
"Even god cannot save this country if political boundaries are going to come in way of nabbing a terrorist from Bihar," Bal Thackeray said.
Calling Qadir a ‘traitor’, the Sena patriarch said, "There was no need for the Bihar chief secretary to meddle with the business (of Mumbai cops arresting Qadir)".
Kumar had defended Bihar DGP's letter to Mumbai police commissioner protesting the manner of arrest of Qadir from Bihar Sitamarhi district. Bihar police chief and chief secretary of the state had reportedly sent letters to their Maharashtra counterparts voicing displeasure over the incident.
While condemning Raj Thackeray's remarks, Kumar had said that as per a circular of the Union Home Ministry the police or investigating agency of any state was duty-bound to inform the local police and seek its cooperation in the arrest of an accused person in a case.
It was not done by Mumbai Police in the arrest of Qadir and several other accused persons from Bihar by police of other states, he said, adding Bihar government and its police were within their rights to protest the manner of such arrest.
