From a gangster to politician, Manoj Bajpai loves experimenting with his roles. He will soon be seen playing a goldsmith in the forthcoming venture Dus Tola, a humorous movie directed by Vedbratt Pain.
If that wasn’t enough, Manoj learned to make jewellery before starting work on the movie. “I trained in making gold jewellery one month before I took up the role. My acting had to be genuine. Not just that, I also had to put on eight kg for the role. I had lost weight for Acid Factory before and I had to regain that weight. I also changed my body language to suit the role of a simpleton. I love to put hundred percent to my role, but losing the extra flab has been very difficult,” he says.
When quizzed whether he was successful in creating a piece of jewellery, he laughs and says, “Of course I did! Now I can make some for my wife Shabnam.” But more than his jewellery making skills, Manoj hopes that it is his role that is appreciated.
