Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh asks for cop cover

Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh has requested the state government for security cover.

Sources said Mr Lokesh has written to the governm-ent and the police requesting for personal security. With rumours of him entering politics, the request ass-umes significance. He will also be coordinating party affairs after his father hits the road on his 117-day state-wide padayatra from October 2.

“It’s a fact that Mr Lokesh sought personal security. He may undertake tours of parts of the state soon,” a close aide of Mr Naidu said.

Since Mr Naidu has Z-category security cover, his immediate family members are provided escort by the local cops whenever they go out. A senior police officer said that the high-level Se-curity Review Committee decides about providing security cover to VIPs.

Other than an ordinary TD party worker, Mr Lok-esh is also executive director of the family-owned Heritage Foods India Ltd.
