In the midst of row between Centre and the Trinamool Congress over FDI in retail, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday attacked the Union Home ministry and said that she was a victim of phone-tapping in the past.
"I was in the central government. I know anybody's phone can be tapped with the help of the Home ministry," Banerjee told reporters at the state secretariat.
Mamata said that at the height of her movement at Nandigram nearly five years ago, "My phone was also tapped."
Alleging that aberrations occurred in her SIM card, she said that when she used to cross Kolaghat to enter East Midnapore district "my phone malfunctioned because of tapping."
