BJP: Cong behind economic crisis

The BJP also moved a political resolution which accused the UPA of corruption, bad governance and step-brotherly treatment to non-Congress-ruled states. The economic resolution discussed at the party national executive on Wednesday, accused the Congress for the country’s current economic “crisis”.
With the TMC walking out of the ruling UPA and the Congress-NCP on the warpath in Maharashtra, BJP chief Nitin Gadkari told leaders that the political situation is currently uncertain. He reminded the “good governance” and “pro-people” policies during the A.B. Vajpayee-led NDA government and why people of the country are looking for an alternative to the “corrupt” UPA government.
Hitting at the Congress-led UPA over corruption issues, including the coalgate issue, Mr Gadkari sought to know from the Congress as how much of the corruption money came to its coffers. He also said that the Congress is in a habit of blaming the Opposition when it itself has taken anti-people measures. The BJP chief told party leaders that while the PM had to cite the 1991 reforms to justify its latest anti-people reforms, the BJP led NDA-ruled states are better than any non-NDA-ruled states in terms of governance, equitable growth and reforms.
Among the issues that were discussed on Wednesday at the meet were Assam crisis, persecution of Hindus in Pakistan, Kashmir situation, including threat to panchayat leaders by terrorists, and misuse of the CBI by the government. Black money issue was also discussed during the meeting.
Terming UPA as the “most corrupt” government since Independence, Mr Gadkari told party leaders that “institutionalisation of corruption has become the benchmark” of UPA. He accused the government of subverting democratic and constitutional institutions like the PAC and the JPC.
